The Big Event Directions

From Central or South Jersey

Find your way to Route 206 North.  Follow 206 North past Route 80 and into Newton, NJ. You will need to pay close attention as 206 takes a number of turns.  Past Newton, you will come to an intersection with Route 15 (Exxon station).  You will make a left turn at this light and continue on Route 206 North.  Go 16-17 miles further on 206 until you come to a fork in the road just past the Montague Elementary School.  Bear left at the fork, go down the hill, and then bear right onto Route 521. Take 521 all the way to the end.  Turn left and that will take you into Port Jervis.  Follow directions below.

From New York City, Newark or North Jersey

Take Route 80 West to Route 23 North or continue on to Route 206 North and follow the directions above.  If you take Route 23, follow it into Port Jervis, NY.  Follow the directions from Port Jervis below. You may also check with an InterVarsity staffworker to find out about public transportation options.

From Port Jervis, NY

Follow Main Street through town (North).  Main Street becomes Route 97/42 on the other side of Port Jervis. Follow Route 97 for 9 miles through Hawks Nest (S curves).  As you cross a short bridge, look for a green road sign that says Glen Spey 5 miles.  Take the first right onto Country Route 31. Follow Route 31 for 5 miles until it dead-ends at the Glen Spey Country Inn.  Turn right and go 1.25 miles and bear left onto Mohican Lake Road. Follow Mohican Lake Road for 2.5 miles and Lake Champion will be on your right.  All buses and camper transportation should turn onto Lodge Road to drop off campers.

Charter Bus & Public Transportation to Port Jervis

InterVarsity has reserved a charter bus from New York City to and from The Big Event.  If the time of departure fits your schedule, this is the best way to go.

***Departure - Bus leaves at 4:45 on Friday, November 2, 2007 - whether you are there or not!
You will have an hour break for buying dinner

Sunday, November 4, 2007 departure from Lake Champion @ 1pm… Arrive at Hunter @ 4pm

NOTE:  The bus from NYC usually fills up fast.  If you need a seat on the bus, it may not be available.  Register early to ensure that you have a seat on the bus.  The cost to ride this bus will be $35 per person round-trip.
