About Hunter Ministry
Located in Manhattan's Upper East Side, Hunter College is part of the City University of New York (CUNY). With 73% of its 22,000+ students identifying as people of color and representatives from 170 countries, Hunter is one of the most diverse campuses in the nation. Since the 1950's InterVarsity has had a witnessing community at Hunter College.
Unique Opportunities
A Ministry Residency experience at Hunter will include: broad scale outreach (reaching 1000+ students), contact evangelism, coaching bible study leaders, opportunities to plant new ministries with various networks. Because Hunter is centrally located in Manhattan, there will be opportunities for a Hunter Ministry Resident to visit other NYC campuses to learn different ministry contexts. Residents will learn from a diverse and seasoned team of NYC InterVarsity Staff Ministers.
Residents on this team will join a staff team that loves to work and play together! On your off-days you can adventure in the five boroughs or Long Island, discover main-street hangouts in local spots or relax at the Jersey shore.
