Work Crew (WC) is a team of about 30 people who play an important role in making Selah happen — helping with the practical work behind the scenes: food prep, food service, set up and clean up after meals, and other tasks that help us serve the community well. And it's not just about the work — Work Crew teams will spend time together in prayer and guided reflection along the way. It's a great opportunity to serve practically while receiving some discipleship around work.
Not to mention if you participate in Work Crew, you can earn a full scholarship for one student to attend Selah!

Work Crew does a variety of jobs, and during team orientation on Friday, you'll each get to select your role for the weekend:
AM/PM cooks (working alongside the Young Life kitchen team),
pits (dishes duty)
mealtime servers.
When you are not working, your team is free to enjoy the camp- relax together in Fox Run and play games, take in the beautiful grounds, attend any of the Selah conference sessions, and participate in Work Crew team devotional times with content we've curated to show the intersection of discipleship and service.
You will receive an email from your Work Crew boss for the weekend. They will help coordinate Work Crew logistics with our Young Life hosts and lead your team throughout the weekend.
Schedule:
We are asking that Work Crew arrives to Young Life Lake Champion (247 Mohican Lake Rd, Glen Spey, NY 12737) by 2pm on Friday. Work Crew wraps up after lunch service/clean up ends on Sunday, approximately 2pm.

What to pack:
When packing for your stay, please bring comfortable, closed-toed shoes, as you'll be working on your feet in food service settings for much of your day. Sleeveless shirts are not allowed when working, though short-sleeved shirts are fine. Bed linens and towels will be provided, but please bring your own toiletries. Feel free to also bring any snacks or board games to share during down time as well.
