From Rejection to Renewal

Students kept saying "no" to Emily's invitation to join a prayer meeting. Even Emily's schedule seemed like it kept getting in the way. She was stuck, discouraged, and ready to give up. So Jerusha, a campus missionary at Rutgers New Brunswick, spent some time with Emily in prayer and there was renewed hope.

That night Emily started inviting people to join her prayer meeting and they said "yes". More came that week to the prayer meeting than she expected, but that was just the start.

"60 minutes is not enough time to pray. Can we have more next time?" (You know Jesus is moving when students are asking for more prayer!!)

"Also, can we set up an intercessory team for our large group services?" (You know Jesus is moving when the "no" turns into "let's start a prayer team!")

But God wasn't done. Through this experience, Emily went from rejected to renewed and has fresh energy for evangelism, even starting spiritual conversations with someone she met who was asking for directions!
